Bohol heritage tour
After the 7.2 magnitude earthquake in 2013, the 1860 Provincial Capitol Building is now open to the public as the National Museum Bohol.
The former Provincial Capitol of Bohol was built when in 1854, Don Leon Torralba, Gobernadorcillo of Tagbilaran signed an agreement with then military and political governor of Bohol, Capt. Guillermo Kirkpatrick, to start the construction of the Plaza del Principe, the Provincial Capitol of Building.
Built of lime, stone and bricks, construction of the building began in 1855 and was completed in 1860 under the term of Gobernadorcillo Esteban Butalid.
